  • Enclosed Spring Mounts

    Enclosed Spring Mounts

    Spring Mountings are a High Performance Product, capable of achieving up to 99% Vibration Reduction. They are suitable for mounting Industrial Machinery, Power Generation, HVAC and Building Services Equipment, and come in two distinct types;

    Enclosed Spring Mountings consist of steel coil springs mounted within a steel cup. The Steel cup controls the lateral movement of the mounted equipment and also contains a snubbing ring to control start-up and shutdown movements. Ideal for Industrial Machinery. The mountings are supplied with a top fixing bolt to allow for levelling after installation, and can be supplied with an oil resistant anti-slip pad under the steel base.

    Applications:
    ■ Static Generating Sets
    ■ HVAC (Fans, Pumps, AHU, Chillers)
    ■ Slow Speed Equipment
    ■ School, Hospital and Residential Installations

  • Stainless Steel Spring  Mounts

    Stainless Steel Spring Mounts

    Spring Mountings are a High Performance Product, capable of achieving up to 99% Vibration Reduction. They are suitable for mounting Industrial Machinery, Power Generation, HVAC and Building Services Equipment, and come in two distinct types;

    Open Spring Mounts

    Spring Mountings are a High Performance Product, capable of achieving up to 99% Vibration Reduction. They are suitable for mounting Industrial Machinery, Power Generation, HVAC and Building Services Equipment, and come in two distinct types;

    Open Spring Mountings consist of a single coil spring mounted onto a fixing plate. They provide excellent vibration reduction properties, particularly for slow speed equipment such as Fans and HVAC equipment. The mountings can be supplied with an oil resistant anti-slip pad under the steel base.

    Applications:
    ■ Static Generating Sets
    ■ HVAC (Fans, Pumps, AHU, Chillers)
    ■ Slow Speed Equipment

  • Wire Rope Isolators

    Wire Rope Isolators

    Wire Rope Shock mountings are an “All Metal” design, providing multidirectional absorption of High Level Shock and Vibration. The all-metallic design allows these mountings to be used in extremely harsh conditions, including corrosive and high temperature environments. The mountings can be manufactured in various designs and configurations, where the wire rope can be produced in Galvanised Steel or Stainless Steel, with load ranges from 0.1Kg to 5000Kg.

    Non-Magnetic Versions available on request.

    Applications:
    ■ Naval Vessels
    ■ Military & Defence
    ■ Aerospace
    ■ Transit Packaging

Anti Vibration Spring Mounts

They come in two distinct types: enclosed spring and open spring mounts. Enclosed anti vibration spring mounts consist of a steel helical coil spring installed within a lower cup and upper cup. The open spring mounts consist of a steel helical coil spring mounted vertically between an upper fixing and lower bracket. Both types provide excellent vibration reduction and can be mounted to various industrial equipment including static generator sets, slow speed equipment and more.

FAQs

How do Anti-Vibration Spring Mounts Work?

Using spring mountings, which utilise a steel coil spring rather than rubber, can provide an effective anti-vibration mounting to protect and isolate your equipment from vibration. The vibration of the equipment can be transmitted to surrounding structures causing disturbance, conversely, vibration can damage your equipment over time, causing costly damage.

Anti-vibration spring mounts provide a high level of deflection (flexibility) compared to rubber anti vibration mounts which results in a lower natural frequency, hence improved levels of vibration isolation. This can be particularly beneficial for slow speed equipment (i.e. lower than 1000 RPM), such as industrial fans and HVAC equipment.

Where Can I Use Anti-Vibration Spring Mountings?

Anti-vibration spring mounts are ideal for many applications and machines, including industrial and commercial equipment, HVAC systems (Fans, AHU, Chillers), static diesel generators, and pumps. Whether you’re hoping to achieve noise and vibration reduction, improve performance, regulation compliance, or enhance safety, an anti-vibration spring mount can help to absorb vibration and reduce structure borne noise.

What is the Load Capacity?

Anti-vibration spring mounts generally have maximum load capacities ranging from 5kg to 2000kg per mount, although we can offer heavier duty sizes that are capable of carrying upto 10000Kg per mounting. In addition, we can offer seismic spring mounts suitable for use in earthquake zones. You’ll find this information on the downloadable data sheets below each product description, but if you need more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Our experts are happy to help you find the best product for your application.

It is important to note that due to the high deflection nature of spring mounts that the load distribution on each mounting is accurately calculated. Our engineers can assist you with these calculations.

What is the Frequency Range of Vibration for Spring Mounts?

The frequency range of vibration depends on several factors, including the design of the mounts, the stiffness and characteristics of the springs, and their load capacity, However generally speaking, Spring mounts are suitable for isolating frequencies as low as 5Hz (and above). Our engineers can help you find the most suitable anti-vibration spring mount for your application.

Which Spring Mount Will Suit My Machine Best?

Spring Mounts are selected based on their load capacity, and also taking into consideration the running speed of the equipment. Firstly, the weight of the equipment needs to be determined, after which the load distribution should be calculated. Next, a spring mounting can be selected, ensuring that the maximum load capacity of the spring mount is not exceeded. (It is ideally to use a Spring mounting within 50% to 80% of its capacity). Alternatively, contact our experts, and we’ll do the hard part for you! Further information on selection can be found here.

AV Industrial Products Ltd can offer vibration testing and site surveys, where we will visit your equipment and conduct vibration testing and frequency analysis. This allows us to accurately determine the best spring mounting and/or identify any problems or disturbing vibrational frequencies.

What is the Lifespan of an Anti-Vibration Spring Mount?

Generally, an anti-vibration spring mount will withstand many years of use, and often exceed the expected life of the machine. However, this can vary drastically, depending on several factors. These include the intensity and frequency of the machine's vibrations, the operating environment, and the regularity of maintenance.
